Magazines : Heat CSP

 1) Look at the Heat Media Pack. Go to page 2: the Heat mission. Write three things that Heat offers its readers under 'print'.

Promises style for everybody , gives life hacks and helping readers understand TV and streaming .

2) Now go to page 3 of the Media Pack - celebrity focus. What does the page say that Heat offers readers?

Heat offers conversation and ensures their readers are always up to date with all the drama . They state that their journalist have all the answers before the question is even asked and expose celebrities secrets 

3) Now look at page 4 of the Heat Media Pack. What other content does Heat magazine offer its readers aside from celebrity news?

They offer their audience a wide range of selectiopn for the hottest things to watch on TV,the most exciting upcoming movies as well as the stories behind the scenes , and big new books taht are going to be popular.

4) Look at page 5. What is Heat magazine's audience profile? Write all the key details of their audience here. 

There is a 90% female population and 10% male .The average age is 37 years old and for the age profile around 52% are aged 15-34 years of age .There is a segment of 50% and 57% of the audience is married .


Media Language 

1) How are the cover lines written to make the audience want to buy the magazine? Consider the interest/intrigue they create.

They use contrasting ad bright colours as well as famous people to attract viewers .

2) What are the connotations of the Heat colour scheme on this particular front cover?

The use of pink suggets they are trying to attract the female audience . The use of serif font shows elegance and classiness . Famous people being on the cover draws attention to viewers.

3) How are images used to create interest in the magazine? Find three reasons for your answer. (E.g. paparazzi images or aspects of mise-en-scene such props, costume, make-up, body position, facial expression etc.)

The use of celeberities off guard pictures suggets authetnixcitiy . Seeing them hiding from the press presnstes them as guilty as well as they are being spotted in natural attire shows naturalness and realness.

4) What differences can you find between the use of design and typography between Tatler and Heat? List at least three differences and explain the effect on audiences.

In heat there is a range of colours being used to make the magazine eye catching and receive more attention whereas in Tatler there is a constant beige colour to keep it miniaml and simple . Another difference is how in heat the cover lines are very disorgniased and the images are all overe the place but in tatler its very plain and simple while also in chronoglical order . The last differnence is how the fonts are different to show elegance and simpliccity.

2) How are celebrities represented in Heat? (Positively? Negatively? Reinforcing or challenging stereotypes?)

Celebreities are represnted in a negative way as paprazzi tend to catch these celebrities at their worst angles to try and almost embarass them . They challange sterotypes as they show the real and how celebrities are day to day.

3) How are women represented on the cover of Heat? Think about both images and cover lines here.

In the magazine, women are often seen as 'covering something' orbeing 'senaky' as theyre is a lot of drama revolving around woman because their is always some sort of gossip .

4) How do Heat and Tatler represent social class? What different social classes can you find in the features and celebrities on the cover? (E.g. middle/upper class / working class)

Heat represent celebrities social class as us all being equal because it shows the real in celebrities and not everything is how you see on social media platofrms because Heat is necessarily unprofessional and not very sophisctatsed . It does not follow a set theme whereas Tatler follow  astrict design and pattern on their magazines to show their bouginess and elegance.
